Improving the efficiency of financial markets

We are used to thinking that investing requires skills and education. Tens of millions of highly experienced financial specialists spend billions of man-hours every day combined to design and implement trading algorithms. The algorithms then compete to outsmart each other and make a quick gain at someone else’s loss. This activity does not generate any economic upside, does not stimulate investments in R&D and does not improve the quality of life of the population. As a matter of fact, millions of people are wasting their time optimizing the process that should not exist in the first place. Instead of competing with each other, we propose that investors adopt Opulence and start making money risk-free and stress-free.

We have seen automation taking over the world over the last centuries. From the industrial revolution to self-driving vehicles, everything is done to make people work easier and more productively. We strongly believe that the financial markets are no exception. As machines take more and more of our jobs, employees become frustrated as they have to pick up new skills to continue affording their lifestyle. Governments all across the world made attempts to create Universal Basic Income programs with a view to alleviate the transition to an increasingly automated world. We believe that Opulence may become one of those systems.

Traditional social security and pension systems adopted by countries worldwide are typically designed in an unsustainable fashion. They look like and act like pyramid schemes, where working class people pay taxes to finance the lives of the elderly. Money is being managed in a centralized way, which is not only inefficient, but also creates risks no different from those demonstrated by Terra and FTX demise. Obviously, social security systems are traditionally backed by the government, which makes them somewhat more reliable, but reforms are still very much desired. More than 70% of Americans, regardless of their political affiliation, want to make changes to the way it currently operates.
